Rachel Nichols for those of you who don’t know, is a model and actress who has stared in Gi Joe, and the 2009 star trek movie, however, she currently has a starring role in the Canadian series Continuum.

Other than being in one of my favorite shows one thing I really liked about her was the mole she had beneath her eye. It was a small thing but it was nice to see an imperfection, no matter how small that didn’t define the character or actor. Defying traditional Hollywood beauty standards if you will. However, in this most recent series of Continuum I was sad to see it had been removed.
I personally didn’t mind so much, if it made her feel better about herself, all the power to her. However, there has been a surprising back lash from Continuum fans.

In this age of inter-connectivity, super stars an fandoms, I think sometimes people forget that celebrities are people too. We don’t own them, and we certainly don’t have the right to tell them what to do with their own bodies.
