Lecture Notes = Week 5

Korsakow as a maker will make you question how you want to make films…

All about makers rather than audience…

Art for art’s sake.

Korsakow seemed like a really stupid idea to me when it was first mentioned. In a film makers mind I felt like it was a waste of time to create a list that no one was going to watch let alone understand. But that’s the thing about K-Films. It ain’t about the glory. It’s about the creation. This is a very fair evaluation about the reasoning for them, making a K-Film says something about the author rather than the audience. We stretch and mold our own meanings by clustering, composition and content itself. We make it with us in mind not the audience. Not to say that it doesn’t say anything about the audience entirely.

I mean with Adrian’s argument “Art of art’s sake” in full swing, why do we even publish them if they’re made for us by us? K-Films rely on a super active audience as their own experience can elicit a unique meaning.

I also need to stop drafting my blogs and forgetting that I did so..
