4 years ago, I entered a fantasy football league with my friends. We’re talking, proper draft style and trading AFL fantasy football – none of that super coach crap where everyone has the same players in their team.
Well, what originally started off as a bit of fun has fast become a bigger part of our lives than we could have ever imagined.
Inspired by TV Sitcom, ‘The League’, based on a group of middle-aged men who live, breathe and sleep fantasy sports, our league now has an official name, trophy, set of on and off-filed rules and regulations, commissioner, democratic system, a huge prize for the winner and an equally large punishment for the loser. We submit video blog posts, talk trash, run polls, hold trade negotiations, place wagers and spend hours researching each week.
In fact, as I sit here I find myself toggling back and and forward between this post and my teams latest stat update desperate to know how many kicks my star midfielder has racked up.
It’s become an obsession. A rather unhealthy one for that matter. Almost to the point where I catch myself more worried about the players in my team, then the results of the REAL LIFE game!
I think I have a problem. Yes, I do. And I need your help.
Who should I choose as my captain this week?
