In our last class of the semester we got an opportunity to get feedback from professional audio technicians which was really helpful to our group as we were a bit unsure on how stable our idea was. Luckily the woman was very kind to us and gave a lot of good advice on how to present our work well which was great.
Afterwards we got a great opportunity to work through our presentation and plan through a good script. It was good to be able to use this time to plan everything out as it is much easier to work through a structured class than trying to plan around when everyone is free which gets more and more difficult towards the end of the semester. By the end of the class we were so confident and happy with where we were in regards to the assignment, even though we haven’t recorded everything we still have anything laid out and we know everything we need to do and how to do it.
I’ve definitely been focusing much more on the pre production aspect of these assignments because I knew in the past I’ve glossed over the planning process so it’s good to focus on a different area than what i’m used to doing.
I try to be as good a director as I possibly can. I try to be prepared, and I hope everyone else is. The preparation, I suppose, means just about everything. Little things mean a lot. – Tommy Lee Jones
