During this week’s workshop we got into our groups and got the opportunity to work on our audio capturing skills, as well as challenging us to come up with an idea centred around the concept of people being too attached to technology.

I really enjoyed this exercise as it was great practice for our group before setting out on our major assignment, quickly coming up with an idea that we thought worked and recording the necessary aspects of it to pull it off in such a short amount of time.

It was also a good opportunity to work with Audition as I had never used it before. I have used a lot of DAWs before extensively so it didn’t take me long to get the hang of even though I found it much more fiddly than Pro Tools where I feel most comfortable. I thought it came out quite well, having a good mixture of atmos sounds to hold the dialogue and whole piece together, as I always believe atmos sound is the most important part of any foley or sound design work.
