Hello all!

Continuing on from last week’s exploration into podcasts, especially documentary podcasts I stumbled upon ‘You Must Remember This’, which is a podcast centred around the forgotten history of Hollywood’s first century. This really peaked my interest especially while doing a cinema class where we explored the beginnings of film so it was great to hear about the humble beginnings of the juggernaut we know as Hollywood.

What I really liked about this podcast in particular was on the website of ‘You Must Remember This’ the creator has a FAQ page and it was great to have an insight into the creation process of such a successful show. I’ll leave a link to it down the bottom for you to peruse but what I found really shocking was she made her first 55 podcasts using a relatively cheap microphone and edited it on Garageband! It was also surprising to discover that she made each episode within one week, from script to uploading which I found really impressive.

This really shows how you don’t need much to create a successful podcast or any career really as long as you’re committed to it and are driven to see it succeed.
