WEEK 1 Tuesday & Wednesday

What do you understand this Studio to be about?  

Actually, I do not think I have study the formal studio course, because I am taking 2.5 years’ study period in RMIT to get a bachelor of communication (Media), so I took the Making Media course rather than Studio 1 in the first semester, then I took the Studio 2 in the summer semester for only 6 weeks, which was too rough to me, I even did not learn how to use the video camera specifically. Now, I am so happy in the first week about what I have learn, how to use the camera, how to shoot your own clips with the scene paper.

What do you hope to get from it?

It could be excellent to learn how to express the atmosphere or the mood by using the video camera, how to handle the light while shooting, because when I was learning photography, the use of light is one of the most important factor, and how to move the camera while shooting, up or down, left or right. Another thing which bothers me is will we learn how to use the Premiere software in class? I do know some basic functions but I have not learnt it specifically as well.

What skills, perspective and/or understandings would you like to have developed by the end of this semester?

The skills I want to learn the most are how to decide the shot we will shoot and how to shoot them well, and for this week, we only shot with the tripod, I also want to learn to shoot without the tripod, on my shoulders.
