Plan on Video Art
After the inspiration for the concept of “time and space” in the previous exercises, I would tend to create an environment that is possible to realise. There I have 2 ideas to visualise my brainstorming into the video art.
Concept
1. The three states of Water – solid state, liquid state and gaseous state (Play in a loop from ice cube to gas, then back to ice cube again.)
Related Video Artist
As I have mentioned in the previous posts (but I wasn’t realising that those are just a kind of video art), Bill Viola, Michael Snow, even the famous director Christopher Nolan visualises the concept of time in a single scene. Here I would like to share more inspiration for my SP2 in this blog post.
Peili Zhang, China
As the earliest video artist, his first video was more focusing on conceptual creation “the process of creating art” than “the artwork itself”.
While people’s common sense tends to value the “result” than a “process”, he records “the process” as an inspiration to represent the work. With the same thoughts in my work, when we pay attention to a thing that we did not use to notice, it silently forms itself into a different state then continues to go to the next state.
