Project Brief 2 – Self Portrait

“View of back” is what I want to express myself through the third person’s sight. Unlike the work done in project brief 1 which is more about my daily life, in project brief 2, I tried to explain what I love to do. I separated the video in to three parts, as following:

I love to look around and try to find something interesting while I was walking. I always enjoy walking on the bridge and looking down from the bridge watching what were other people doing at that time.

I love cooking that it becomes the most exciting activities for my everyday life. Every night before I sleep, I would spend time thinking what should I cook for the next day. Additionally, only myself know the most about what I love to eat.

I love travelling that is the best part in my life. I started travelling when I was 17, and I spent 4 to 5 days every month travelling to other cities to relieve stress and gain some power. Likewise, I like to make new friends and recognise local culture when I travelled to another place.

The most successful part of the project was creating the background music with my brother. When I started to do the video, I searched a lot of background music online, however from what I found if it was not match with my video, it met the copyright policy. Therefore, I got a mind of creating it by myself. Although I was not good at music making software, my brother was willing to help me doing the editing part. We spent a day on it and thanks it was finally done.

The challenging part of making this video was using the Adobe Premier Pro software. It was my second time using the software after doing Haiku video. Although I did it with the Haiku exercise before, I still had lots of questions on it. Besides, I had created the background music first, so I had to organise the photos and videos right at the timing. Moreover, I had to know how to volume down part of the background music for adding in the audio recording file. Although it might be a tough task, I really enjoying in creating my own video.
