Uses of Photography – Week 7

Due to some reason, my partner Rachel has to changed the option for me to photograph. For the new subject, she introduced me to a dancer who is interested in ballet and contemporary dance. We have arranged a time on Wednesday and I will be going to her dance class where she has a lesson on ballet.

At this point, I mainly spent my time on planning. I am going to take different types of photos. Here are some of my plan list:

  1. Introduction images – a medium shots of the subject
  2. Portraits – the portraits of the subject itself, the environment portraits
  3. Detail shots – focus on one thing which create layers in the photo
  4. Close up shots – the body parts of the subject, the items needed for ballet (ex. ballet shoes)
  5. Action shots – the subject dancing (try fast and slow shutter speed)
  6. Exit images – a long shot of the dance class with the subject

As this is just part of my planning, I will try to take as many photos as I can in order to choose the best images for the photo essay.
