We were back in class again after the long break for Easter. We started a mini film festival where we watched each other’s self portrait video for Project Brief 2. It was really interesting watching others’ work and seeing how people react to my work. It gives us an opportunity to learn the ideas and skills from others and also gain the feedback for our works.

Next we discussed the reading about sound and we were asked to do a sound exercise where we paired up and used the ZOOM H2N to record in a formal and informal style. We decided to go to café for our informal interview. There were people walking around and talking to other people which set as background noise. We then discussed about what we had to say before we recorded. For the formal interview, it has to be recorded at a quite place, hence we chose to get up to the top floor of building 80.

Personally, I thought the interview would be very simple but actually it was not. The ZOOM H2N recorder was easy to handle however it was hard to interview through the recorder. We had to prepare what we were going to say and make sure the sound was clear and at the right volume. Overall, I had a lot of fun with this exercise and I’m getting ready to interview for my Project Brief 3.
