As the week progressed, I once again changed my mind about my chosen photographer for project brief two. The main reason why was because I felt that while I could imitate his style, the thematic element to his war images would be lost. Without capturing the feeling, an image is just an image and even though I intended to imitate his work, I still needed a story.

I continued my search for a photographer and decided that the ‘easiest’ to imitate would be portraiture. I came across Alessio Albi’s work and was intrigued by her unique take on portraiture. I was particularly after her style since she uses natural light aswell as nature to make her subjects unique.

The model I chose for my subject, neither has freckles or coloured eyes, which seems to be the trend with her photography. Instead, I will try to work around this and find a different way to create a comparison to the greenery.

To achieve this look, I wish I had borrowed a better working Dslr with a lower f stop. With my own 700d, I will have to have a really slow shutter speed at a low f stop number to achieve this look. As always with my kind of lens, it is best to keep the ISO at a very low range… maximum at the lowest light I aim to use is 400.  I will be going to macedon ranges, as i know the perfect places with the perfect lighting for these kind of portraits. The rest of the work I will have to do in photoshop and lightroom, playing with the contrast, brightness levels and luminosity.
