This week was the craziest week of all. We had a lot of preparing and communicating with each other to do. with six members, we had to decide on an official name, logline and synopsis. We decided to call our documentary ‘Confessions of a Confectioner’ and our main goal would be to make the documentary as colourful as Terri’s outfits.

The synopsis of our documentary is as follows:

Lollie Lovers is one of the confectionery shops at the Queen Victoria Market. In it is where Terri works. Female Willy Wonka tells a story of Terri who works at Lollie Lovers where it is located at Queen Victoria Market. She is a friendly and a kind woman with beautiful short purple hair and bright coloured eye shadows. 25 years ago, Terri decided to be one of the employees at Lollie Lovers, as she appreciates the joyful, colourful and delicious candies since she was a child. She believes that candies could create happiness within people, especially children. Her mindset was built due to the past that she experienced, but what was in her past?

Visually we decided to propose to do an intro where we mask and overlay many videos to show the entrance of Queen Victoria Market. We also wanted Terri to hum the classic ‘pure imagination’ from the 1971 film. Unfortunately Rohan told us we could not simply because of copyright reasons. We scraped that idea but weren’t too disappointed since we still had a lot to work with visually. We created a shot list, which includes long shots, medium shots, Wes Anderson style locked off shots…

We also created a production timeline, which i will list below for my own personal reference…
