I made the unwise choice of going to the night market. It was the most crowded place I have been to in a while and as luck would have it, it was above thirty degrees. I made my way through the crowd trying not to lose sight of my family in the utter chaos that was the night market. Food vendors were yelling and some were even dancing. I was very hungry but the long queues for food were enough to satisfy my hunger.

I was on the look out for characters as a possible interviewee. I walked around the stalls and ended up changing my route many times(mainly because i kept seeing people I know but did not want to really talk to… It was hot and i was in a bad mood so..)somehow i ended up finding two characters that intrigued me. I saw a man who owned a plant shop and a woman selling candy. Since I do not have a green thumb and end up killing even a cactus, I am intrigued by the kind nature of plant lovers. My grandmothers friend is an intriguing character and her house resembles an enchanted forest from far away. I imagined that he would also be like that.

The second character I saw was an older lady, with a short blonde bob selling lollies. She was also wearing a bright peach dress and I thought that the lollie shop would be very aesthetic to film. The big lollipops and the overall colourfulness of the stall drew my attention to it and i hope that similar to me, an audience may enjoy watching a small documentary about lollies. I pitched the character to Rohan and when he said sell the story to me the only thing that came to mind was the female Willy Wonka. As most kids were, I was an avid reader of anything Roald Dahl and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was one of my absolute favourites. Perhaps that was why I was drawn to the female willy wonka, because like Roald Dahl, I would like to add colour to someones life.

For the group formations and picking of the characters, Rohan made us close our eyes and lift our hands for the documentary we would like to do. We formed into groups and the female Willy Wonka now has six members to create a six minute long documentary.
