The fast pace of media and its ever changing landscape is overwhelming at times. There is a new app, update, platform of media created every day by the hour. How do we as media creators and consumers stay up to date?
Media is ubiquitous and according to David Gauntlett there are steps we must take to be effective and active in todays media.
Gauntlett believes that there are three kinds of knowledge that is essential for making and using media. We must know:
→ How things work (technical and economic knowledge)
→ How things feel and fit (emotional and embodied knowledge)
→ How to make a difference (creative and political knowledge)
These steps are easier said than done, perhaps i should add them to my previous blog post (https://www.mediafactory.org.au/ceyda-resuloglu/2016/03/09/dear-future-self/) as goals for my future self as a media student.
