Reflecting ‘’Design Fiction as Pedagogic Practice

Towards a fictionally biased design education

– Designing for a world that doesn’t exist, coming up with new technology that will one day take over the world and completely consume our lives. I.e. Smart Phones.
– This involves forward thinking and innovation.
– Right now it is fiction but one day it will be practical.
– If your ideas are absurd, crazy and unrealistic don’t present this as a possibility but in fact fiction.

The idea of aesthetic originality is difficult to comprehend. We live in a world where it is commonly believed that everything is a remix. In design it’s common to reference, borrow and “quote” form from the past.

I like this idea that everything is a remix, is it possible that nothing is completely original anymore? So we live in a world stumped for ideas, constantly re-creating others great minds and presenting them as our own.
