The shot was slightly overexposed because the light was in the background and it was early in the morning and the z7 was harder to configure.
After:

On the three way colour corrector, I toggled with the greener side of it because it would reflect on the whole theme of “language as colour” and it would correspond with the colour we have associated the subject with, green. It gives off a colder feel to it as opposed to having it white and bright.
I messed with the contrast and brightness in this one, just to see what it would look like if it was really saturated and dark. I was hoping that it would kill off the brightness only. But turns out everything gets darker and the subject’s face is more smoother in turn because there is less detail. It would be a nice effect if the rest of the documentary was set to look underexposed but perfectly bright where it needs to be.
I added the black and white effect after messing with the contrast, so its very smooth looking, it would work for a french noir film and everything was black and white. Like schindler’s list or Sin city. It would be MORE effective to use black and white for all participants and interviews and only little use of colours for example only in the introductions. It would have a stronger effect on viewers.
