Week 8: Collages

This reading was a bit strange. To me it seemed like it was 9 pages of bullet point of what a collage is.

The points made are occasionally out of the box and seem unrelated but then again, that in itself is what a collage is. A product made of other products, to deliberately destroy a narrative (pieces of a narrative) and recreating a whole new one.

Some collages don’t necessarily tell a story, but more of a segment of a story, a fragment of time. Almost presented like a rhetorical question. as they are not meant to do anything else but evoke meaning.

Some of the profound points that i liked:

362: Nothing is going to happen in this book
335: I look at melody as rhythm
321: Story seems to say that everything happens for a reason, and i want to say “No, it doesn’t”
317: The law of mosaics: How to deal with pieces in the absence of wholes.
