For this activity on found footage, I decided to try and make a short portion for my own screen project, particularly one that I just couldn’t film myself. My original plan was to do most of the filming myself. But by the way things are looking so far, this may no longer be the case. So I think that this activity could really help me get in the head space of creating a short film based mostly on found footage.
Since I wanted this scene to look like as if it’s raining, I decided to overlay a clip showing exactly that on top of all the other footage to show that they’re all cohesive as a whole and appear to be in the same setting. Anyway, you could say that this short video in itself is actually quite abstract, and honestly I myself am also not quite sure how I feel about this just yet. But I do have to say that I am starting to warm up to the idea of playing around with things that are outside of my comfort zone; trying to create something along the lines of the “horror” genre from found footage, as well as being able to work around the issue of not being able to shoot/find clips that I had in mind that conveys a particular narrative.
