ABC’s Monday night program Four Corners, as always did an excellent expose on an area of Australian culture which goes vastly unheard of in the bustling socio environment which is our country.
I felt this piece of media documentation was a very important and striking piece of footage alerting many sheltered Australians to open their eyes to injustices which often go unnoticed within the underworkings of the society which they inhabit, and feed their money into.
The program highlighted the abuse and the slave like conditions to which many Australian contractors are forcing upon innocent international working visa holders, within the expose some holders reporting 18 hours days on wages as little as 7 dollars an hour.
Four Corners engages Australian Audiences to reconsider the environment which they inhabit. Rather than in a poor engagement such as ones seen on Today Tonight, or A Current Affair. Four Corners offers a fair and levelled approach to the areas of research they endeavour upon, and especially within this weeks story, aim to engage various different audiences whom other wise may not be a regular viewer of the program.
