This weeks lecture focused upon refreshing and strengthening us as students abilities to use the RMIT database as well as the importance and skills of Collaboration.
We have been shown the various search networks, ways to which we can find scholarly references for our assignments and how to use some search engines referencing tools.
We looked into the Good versus the Bad experiences within collaboration, i.e. the individual holding the entirety of the work load, and unable to compromise, versus a gain of inspiration, sharing ideas, solving problems together. Rigour-having a stronger vetting process to evaluate ideas and approaches.
Collaboration is in turn an excellent way to gain leadership, gain negotiation experience. A pivotal point which people need within a collaboration is the ability to communicate and the better collaborators are able to shift the way in which they interact in regard to groups compared to other groups and can identify the more appropriate way to act within the contextual setting.
Overall in order to function within a group, you have to identify what you want out of this project, and it is crucial for success to remain honest, open, consistent, and respectful.
