This week’s reading had me thinking about the whole issue sparked lately about ‘fake news’. While fake news had always been around, I feel it has just recently been in the headlines of the media with the rise of Donald Trump. His constant chanting and borderline ranting about how everything negative the new reports about him is false and ‘sad’, I believe, has brought this to the spotlight as of late.
The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!

While the slogan, if you will, of fake news I think has been brought about by Trump’s rants, incidents such as the Dakota Pipeline and the covering up of the lives lost and police brutality during the black lives matter movement has caused such a shift in societal questioning when it comes to what we’re shown from the mass media. In such a manic world we live in today- the word ‘war’ ringing far too loud, I feel like it’s no wonder so many people question what is being shown before them having been lied to so many times in such a small space of time.
