The screening for this week was a 1998 Will Smith film, Enemy of the State. It’s about a lawyer who becomes a primary target for a corrupt government official, after he accidentally gains information about a serious political crime. It was directed by Tony Scott, the younger brother of Ridley Scott, famous for movies such as Top Gun, and Unstoppable.
I have to say, I really liked this film. It was like a Die Hard movie, but instead of hunting the villain, he’s being hunted. I didn’t get a chance to analyze the movie to certain depth as I was watching it because I was too focused on the story, but I’ll get around to it when I write up my blog post for Intro to Cinema Studies. But it was a little difficult to break down aspects while watching it because it was a very fast paced action film, but we’ll see how I go.
