Film School

Hello my fellow film people!

I just thought I’d share some YouTube channels with you that have really helped me with short films in the past.

https://www.youtube.com/user/filmriot/videos – If you can get past the super lame humor, then Film Riot can be really helpful. They have a variety of tutorials, but they mostly specialize in special effects. They’re great for those who are just beginning to grasp the use of editing programs, and they really help you get a feel of how stuff works in post-production.

https://www.youtube.com/user/indymogul – Now, Indy Mogul mostly specialize in practical effects, but they still have some guides on post production. They also have some tutorials on cheap DIY equipment if you can be bothered.

https://www.youtube.com/user/RJFilmSchool – Rocket Jump is best at explaining how to put together your own film. They go over topics such as storyboarding, safety, lighting, etc. It’s created and mostly hosted by Freddie Wong (or FreddieW), a YouTuber who is popular for his special effects and action sequences.

Enjoy!
