Say Grace follows the journey of a young woman named Ella, who is grief-stricken after a fatal accident from her past. Ella visits her family for dinner for the first time since the fateful incident, hoping to move forward. As the evening progresses, Ella’s unresolved emotions come to light, forcing her to confront her grief. Despite her attempts to overcome her emotions, Ella is ultimately compelled to face her greatest fears. The narrative of Say Grace explores the complex dynamics of guilt, sorrow, and familial bonds as it follows one person’s journey to reconcile with their past and find solace amidst their emotional complexities.
To transport our audience into Ella’s world, we have articulately crafted an immersive soundscape, intending to place the audience into the mind of an emotionally complex individual. Through a careful selection of shots, we set the tone through a jarring pace, emulating Ella’s unpredictability and heightened anxiety.
The collaboration and unwavering support between our group has been the leading force of our short film. The film perfectly captured our creative vision and showed how we seamlessly blended technical and artistic elements. We each took on tasks based on our strengths, which made everything run smoothly. Although everyone’s unique input is crucial, collaboration sparked our creativity and elevated the project’s quality. Coming together with our ideas and shared experiences led us to craft such an emotionally impactful story. We’re thrilled to be able to share the intricacies of human emotions and relationships through our story.
