Dr Binoy Kampark knows a ‘big lie’ when he sees it. As a researcher in the field of disinformation and politics, Kampark observed a flurry of misinformation during the height of the 2016 US election. He believes that bad actors had set the stage that propelled mass amounts of misinformation leading to Trump’s victory. WHEN MISINFORMATION RAN WILD is a 4 min documentary that recalls how misinformation became a big player within the political debate which drastically changed the outcome of the election. Issues ranging from misinformation to the threat to democracy after the rise of Trump.
There are multitude of things and skills that we have learnt across the whole project as a whole. The most important skill that we have learnt was the how to fully utilize the performance of the camera to shoot at its full potential. Further more learning to adapt with the problems on hand and change the final output of our documentary to create the same effect we had intended to create. We also greatly improve on the skills of video editing and knowing the different systems that could assist us for the post-production to polish our video. We also got a clear understanding of the issue that could be encountered in during the production and what steps are required to be taken before and during production.
