I HATE AI from Media Factory on Vimeo.
I HATE AI is a short commentary on the stupidity of using AI actors as replacements for movies. The video follows James, an actor who had recently been turned down the role he auditioned for, finding out that the leading role of the film went to someone a little too familiar to him.
It was shot in just over 2 hours using a Google Pixel 6 Pro but not the default camera app but instead one allowing me to have full control over the camera. It was entirely created by me, with my friends Jarvis and James playing the roles of The Producer and James The Actor respectively.
It was a lot of fun writing and then filming and I think it turned out really well. From the entire process of creating the video, I feel I have come out with a type of style I want to create future videos in. A nice close up and naturally lit style to feel grounded, similar to the show Atlanta created by Donald Glover.
I also learnt the difficulty of directing actors in order to create your vision, but I feel I have greatly improved my skills overall as a filmmaker.
