Sketch Quest

Sketch Quest was the artistic game show of the century. Fast paced art fuelled by fast-paced prompts. Chaotic and creative fun is the theme of this show as contestants battle it out to draw the incoming prompts by the son of Picasso himself, Ronin! Ronin will guide contestants through the competition with randomised prompts every 30 seconds in the first round and a lightning round of 10 second intervals. Each interval, contestants will attempt to draw the given prompt as quickly and as accurately as possible within the provided time frame. The contestant with the best overall drawing after each round wins. This show was a lot of fun for us to make.

From previous weeks in class and assignments, this one elevated the level of coordination that was required from us as a group. Communication is key when executing a show such as this. It takes multiple people understanding their role, and their part to turn their individual cog to allow the whole machine to operate. We went from watching videos and reading on how studios were able to produce these videos and shows to experiencing firsthand the high level of communication to do it. It’s nothing short of elite teamwork, coordination and a team chemistry that allows those big multi-cam shows to operate at such a high level. These assignments we did were a fraction of what the professionals can do. Now that we’ve got a taste of it -and what a fun time it was- we will hopefully one day find the opportunity to do it again.

Sketch Quest was a creative and playful endeavour for us. The team behind the creation of it had a lot of fun doing it and we are proud of its existence and creation. We felt that it was a creative idea that was out of the box of the usual/existing game shows. It was simple but it was a lot of fun.
