The Forgotten

‘Set in the near dystopian future, a government AI project is tested on the lower-class. As a result, an unloved daughter is erased from society. Now, she must reclaim her existence while bringing down those in power.’
The Forgotten is a dystopian, AI science fiction that comments on the current housing crisis in Australia. Taking the perspective of a young girl from the lower class, The Forgotten highlights how this issue needs to be resolved in a way that is not a quick, temporary fix, such as AI generated housing. The people need to be listened to and the route of the problem needs to be examined. Writing this treatment shone a light on the difficulties of developing a plot. While aiming to write something that was engaging, yet still focused on the themes, but avoiding plot holes, and cheap plot tricks, for the first time, was a challenge. However, through collaboration with classmates, receiving perspective from first time audiences, very much helped the writing process and left we with an industry quality treatment.
