And Scene Social Media Representative

As a social media/marketing representative for the And Scene Festival, my role was to work alongside my team members to curate content that would best capture the essence of the festival and engage our targeted demographic. This required extensive research into current trends for each social platform as well as trial and error to best gauge the best-performing posts. A few weeks into our soft launch I began to analyse and monitor metrics for our social media platforms; TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. This analysis helped our team navigate our audience reach and performance rates, allowing us to determine which platforms performed better. Consequently, we decided to focus all our attention on TikTok, and soon after, on Instagram. Through this we were able to focus on generating entertaining yet relevant content that best represents us as a media cohort.

Working with the social media team, our job involved both behind the scenes planning and on camera execution. We would collaborate together to create the most fun and engaging scripts for each post whilst also meticulously considering each detail that would attract our audience, such as location, hooks and humour. We collectively scheduled times to film content inside and outside of class to ensure the production of high quality material. Our role also involved working collaboratively with other groups like the documentation team and marketing design team.

In addition to creating content, we also ensured to have enough material ready for the weeks leading up to the festival days. Planning ahead was crucial to maintaining an engaging social media presence and to accordingly improve user engagement rates. This included a posting schedule and SMART goals to keep our team on track.
