As a member of the social media team for the And Scene Film Festival, my main task was to shoot the promotional videos that were posted on Instagram.
I usually shoot on the iPhone, for audio sometimes using voice memos and sometimes using a DJI microphone. My main contribution was to shoot various promotional videos, specifically suited to the Instagram platform, to suit the different stages of the festival’s promotional needs. Considering that Instagram’s user base is primarily young, I made sure that each video was engaging and entertaining through a variety of perspectives, interesting scripted content, and an upbeat soundtrack.
The camera angles are the result of many team discussions. I would do multiple takes and choose the best version to emphasize the importance of the festival. Because each shot is not only a visual experience but also a bridge to communicate with the audience. At the same time, multiple shoots also improved my shooting and communication skills. However, while each video increases the number of Instagram followers, the more important meaning is that the viewers can know more about our festival and can come to enjoy the screening of each work to feel a different atmosphere of the festival.
