Huiqi Liu’s Edit Series comprises three edits in the styles of narrative, documentary, and commercial.
Narrative: An excerpt from the music video for the song ‘Don’t’ by Calica.
Documentary: Interviewing a person from Xuzhou who resides, studies, and works in Melbourne.
Commercial: Introducing a convenient and healthy instant black sesame dessert.
When I first joined this studio, my expectation was to receive professional guidance and training in order to improve my skills. My goal is to continuously enhance my professional abilities in design, creativity, editing, or other related fields through participating in the studio’s courses and project practices. I am eager to gain insights from the experienced leaders of the studio, accumulate experience and knowledge, and hope to meet like-minded partners to progress together through teamwork.
In this semester’s studio, I have learned a lot about film and video production as well as post-production editing. Through the course, it has made me more proficient in using PR and given me a deeper understanding of the editing software Cap Pro. I have also learned how to use editing to tell a story or convey an emotion. Sebastian has also given me valuable advice and guidance, making my work more professional and interesting.
I am very happy to see the editing works of other people in the studio, because by watching their works, I can learn different editing techniques and creative ideas. Although there is still much room for improvement in many aspects, this helps me a lot to understand my possible shortcomings in the editing process. In this studio, I constantly improve my editing skills and also make friends who can progress together.
