Narrative: ‘You Are Living Proof’
A Chinese teenage girl is insecure about her nose. The story visits her parents, young and in love; in 90’s Hong Kong. I wanted the heart of this film to be that ‘your facial features are living proof that someone was in love with them’, targeted towards people of colour who grew up in predominantly white environments.
Documentary: ‘What is love anyway?’
A conversation between two young people over tea, discussing what they know about love. I aimed for this documentary to feel like an introspective back-and-forth conversation, in which viewers are the silent third at the table. I encourage viewers to self-reflect on their own understanding of love.
Commercial: ‘CHAD Cosmetics: Alpha Titanium Highlighter’
A satirical commercial advertising makeup for men. This commercial meant to present a cosmetic product (mainly used by women) by mimicking the hyper-masculine aesthetic used to sell products such as deodorant and razors, which are aimed at men.
