The following is the edit series I worked on individually over the semester:
The edits are as follows:
#1 Narrative/Pseudo-music video: A story about a burned-out uni student who eagerly escapes to the forest in search of a piece of peace.
#2 Documentary – Jason Wang: A interview with the amateur photographer about his journey to find his passion for photography.
#3 Commercial: An experimental approach to promoting products for Arc’teryx.
Throughout the semester, despite strengthening my knowledge about editing, I have gained a shift in mindset towards media production that helps me identify the focus, enabling me to balance between tasks at different stages of production (before, during, and after), which significantly boosted my productivity.
I spent a decent amount of time improving my editing skills and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience as it helped me learn the workflow of a professional video editor, rather than simply familiarising myself with shortcuts on Premiere Pro.
I am impressed with how this studio course had broadened my perspective on media production, not only providing me with opportunities to improve my practical skills but also guiding me to work as a real media practitioner.
