What Remains: Unmade Films

This is a short video essay documenting the importance of preserving unfinished films, as new works can be influenced and informed by these unfinished works. This project highlights two key works, ESFIR (2020) by Cynthia Madansky, inspired by the work of Ėsfir Shub, and The Florestine Collection (2011), by Helen Hill and Paul Gailuinas. This project began with research, after which we all worked collaboratively on a script. Then, Lachlan was able to record the voice-over and edit the video together. I think that we all got a lot out of this project, both in terms of just learning more about this subject, but also experience with practical team work.
