Esme tries to distract herself from the intimate dinner party occurring outside her bedroom.
Things inevitably don’t go to plan. When my original Esme couldn’t make the shoot, I had to step in and work both in front and behind the camera. It was tricky to do the roles of DOP, director and actor justice simultaneously. It was at least humorous attempting a bird’s eye view shot, holding the camera while acting, trying not to cut my own head out of frame. The experience ultimately reminded me the value of flexibility and affording oneself time; to set the shot up, review, and adjust.
