The videos will discuss how Spotify utilises its algorithm, research and user’s personal interests in songs in order to create or suggest songs, playlists, radio stations, podcasts, or similar artists and their albums for the person to listen to. Another focus area that will be explored/ discussed will be to inform the audience about how Spotify uses the general public’s mass data in order to utilise and curate personalised and recommend other songs and playlists. It will also talk about general music web players and how it monitor user’s songs and how they create such similar like minded songs by evaluating their most played, pauses, skipped, shared, liked, etc. Playlists also help curate and suggest artists, genres and decade mixes for the listener and how the algorithm constantly updates these playlists everyday in order for the listeners to stay engaged. They also create “Discover Weekly” and “Release Radar” playlists as well. Spotify as a whole on its streaming service itself will be discussed and how it operates and how it forces/ heavily advised users to buy their “Premium” version in order to download songs, be able to listen offline, as well as being able to play and select songs at their own will as well.
