This exercise has allowed me to gain a more realistic outlook on the practicality of a production set. I realised I need to have better time management with the help of a first AD, as well as a proper resting period for my actors to recover from a long day of shooting. As directors, oftentimes we become so immersed in our creativity that we try to perfect one shot and leave no time for others. Therefore a time limit can sometimes be beneficial as it sets a boundary for the necessary procedures a production undertakes. This video explores the different depths of field achieved through various camera positions. Using both shallow and deep DOF, audiences are guided to focus on a particular part of the screen.
