Are you smart, even? Hosted by exceptional entertainer Charlie Ford, two contestants battle it out head-to-head as they attempt to answer various questions and see if they’re smart… even!

Our group collaborated on creating a quiz show format with a focus on the comedy genre. The original intention was simply a quiz show, but as it’s evolved our focus leaned towards the comedic elements rather than the guest’s academic ability.

Though we were under the direction of Emman, the development was a very collaborative process. Considering the comedic focus, the writing now took the forefront. Meaning that everything had to be outlined before Emman was there to stitch it all together.

This gave us a greater understanding of the technical and story possibilities for future projects and showed us that by utilising our various strengths we can create an impressive and genuinely enjoyable production.

‘Are You Smart, Even?’ acts as the perfect precersor to ‘The Charlie Show’, planting the seeds for how comedy and narrative can be implemented on a much bigger scale.
