The Alt right pipeline. Most of us have heard of it, know what it is, and why it is so dangerous. It’s been an ongoing source of discussion and debate online for years, yet very few of us understand how it works. Most online discourse surrounding the alt right pipeline concerns the social aspect of it – who’s fault is it, who does it affect, what are the consequences? What is rarely considered, however, are the algorithms and automated decision making systems that exist within the fabric of the social media platforms that allow this content to exist in the first place. How do social media platforms get away with promoting this content so regularly, and what can we do to be more aware of it from an algorithmic point of view?
The process involved in this video has stretched my capabilities in filming and editing. I have worked with different lighting arrangements in my video, which I have not considered important until now. I look forward to experimenting with different lighting techniques in the future. As well as this, I have begun to solidify a level of confidence in my use of Premiere Pro. I have had the opportunity to use this product throughout other courses, but this project has allowed me to experiment with different editing techniques that I am satisfied with my ability to have completed
