Imposter! – Zoe Nikolakopoulos

When you are surrounded by countless talented people in a creative university course, it is hard to recover from the dreaded imposter syndrome. Going from a year 12 media class of 10 people to a course with over 200 students was a hard adjustment for me.

Having taken an interest in confessional art, I aimed to create a piece of work that feels deeply personal whilst remaining lighthearted in nature.

In the fun form of a repurposed board game, I invite everyone to get to know me and understand how I’m feeling as I complete the second year of my media degree. Using mixed mediums, I created my own game to represent my journey – from an assured high school student to an unconfident university student. Play along as me, or as yourself, and let’s explore these common emotions that we shouldn’t be ashamed of.
