“The Pier” is a short film starring Bee Eral and Lisa Mitrov about two old friends, Chris and Terri, who meet at the Saint Kilda Pier for coffee and a catchup, but a story about a man on the pier brings up some tensions, both internal and between each other.

The story of the pier was inspired by a seaside breakfast I was having with my wife when two women sat behind us and got talking and they were both dressed very differently but seemed to have been long-time friends. For some reason, I had this thought in my head, what would these two women make of witnessing an event at the pier by that cafe?

While the process was a little hectic due to a job that I had going at the same time and having to squeeze it in, including the one and only rehearsal I could hold, I thoroughly enjoyed the process and working with these two wonderful actors and seeing them bring my little story to life. Bee and Chris were absolute troopers and took notes well and also gave feedback when needed. It was an absolute pleasure and I just hope I did them the same justice they did “The Pier”.
