‘Lachie and Me’

Synopsis: Lachie and Me is a short film about a man acclimatising to life at home during lockdown. From the faux-formality of the early Zoom-calls to the slow deterioration into pyjamas and activewear, the main character finds solace in his little companion Lachie.

 

Making of this short film was my first truly collaborative experience producing a film with a group. It required both creative and technical input from all members at all stages of the production. This made the process a lot of fun, but also quite challenging when it came to dividing the workload and assigning roles. Whilst juggling the roles of writer, actor, and editor was a bit overwhelming in the moment, the multidisciplinary workload taught me a lot about all the different parts of production. I was able to expand on both my technical and collaborative skills, and exploring genre was a fun and rewarding creative experience.
