I use photography during different intervals in life. I am an avid “memory keeper”, therefore the main purpose of photographs would be to build my memory bank. Similarly, it allows me to recognise personal achievements and milestones.

Photography is an important aspect of our daily lives. It is used as a medium to capture an artist’s impression of the world. Although photography can be subjective in terms of practice, the outcome is still used as a form of co-sharing memories.

In this day and age, with the use of social media platforms, sharing photographs have become extremely accessible. For instance, Instagram. Having been a pastry chef for a couple of years, I have 2 seperate accounts, one personal used for leisure activities and another to showcase my work, this creates awareness for fellow insta-goers and clients whom can then interact and engage in my work. I feel that this is possibly a streamlined method one can use to reach out to the world.

Over the course of 12 weeks in this studio I was exposed to a broader aspect of photography, coupled with real time exercises and practices. This knowledge that I have consumed has changed my perception of photography and I will most definitely be bringing it forward to my professional practices and future endeavours.
