Post 22：Filming reflection

The final shot was completed in 4 hours. First of all, our first shooting location was taken at the entrance of the Chinese restaurant. Because the models and photographers are not very familiar, the model was a bit timid and shy when it first faced the camera. After a while, the communication model quickly found the feeling, and the three remaining scenes ended very quickly. According to the plan, our 4 scenes were shot very smoothly.

Schedule: The schedule is crucial for our shooting. Before the shooting, I plan to have a total of 8 shots. However, we only used five lenses in practice, and the remaining three were used as an alternative to prevent any accidents from appearing in the shooting. I strictly follow every step of the plan. The plan is critical to me. I could know how each shot should be shot and tell the actors how to play. This saves me a lot of shooting time. Moreover, if there are any problems, I can immediately modify the plan according to the problem.

Light: The lights played a significant role in this shoot. Because of shooting at night, the use of lighting is especially important to us. I am most satisfied with the light stick. This light shows a very fashionable and cool effect under the reflection of the clothes. Among them, the penultimate lens I opened the light stick random flash switch, making the screen mysterious and nervous. I really love it.

Post 21：Equipment, Schedule and Outfit

Equipment: In terms of photographic equipment, I will use a Sony a7III Mirrorless digital camera with Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens. Panel light and Led light stick (blue and purple), and we will use MOZA Handheld gimbal stabilizer throughout the whole movie. In this shoot, I invited my good friend Jason to help, and we will use the stabilizer to shoot. More, we have a lot of lenses that need to move from far to near, and some of the lens heroines need to run, so using stabilizers is a particular right choice for us.

Schedule: Regarding the shooting time, I chose the night of October 5th, starting at 7:30 pm (I want to make sure that the sun has fallen 100%, the sky has turned black), and then we will spend 3 to 4 hours. Because the shooting locations are all in one place, we don’t have to pay a lot of time on the transition. Furthermore, I try to reflect on the darkness of the pryers, and I chose to shoot at night. Because the snooper is a dark character, the things and actions they do are secret.

Outfit: Regarding the choice of clothes, I chose a futuristic coat. This coat is reflective. When the led glow stick shines on the garment, it will reflect the blue and purple light. Besides, because our shooting is at night, this reflective clothing will look particularly bright at night. The name of our movie is a pryer, and only the most shining people in the night will attract their attention.

Post 20：Film detail

I expect this fashion movie is between 1 minute and 2 minutes. In this film, I have chosen a total of 4 different scenes. The film is divided into two parts. The first part is that the heroine is standing in 2 different places, and I will take some details of the clothes from far to near. The second part is that people on the street chase the heroine. Thus, the rhythm of the whole film is from slow to fast. I want to show the emotional changes of the pursued, and I also want the audience to feel the tension gradually. Besides, since this is a fast-paced fashion advertisement, and I want to use the changes in the environment to drive the mood of the audience, I did not arrange any dialogue. Finally, since this is a film about the snooper, I will shoot the movie from the perspective of the tracker.

In the week before the shoot, I spent a day confirming the scene I needed. Finally, I chose four stages. They are the entrance to the Chinese restaurant, the graffiti wall, the crossroad, and the parking lot gate. Moreover, location is 133 franklin street these places are all on the same road, which is a lot of time we saved during the transition.

Regarding the choice of address, I chose a place with a bright sense of color. Because it was shot at night, I want to have a sharp contrast with the natural environment.

Post 19：Fashion film- inspiration

This is a promotional film for a fashion brand. The reason it appeals to me is that the rhythm of the film is from slow to fast, and finally, it too fast and brings me suffocating feeling. Besides, the few running lenses behind it look cool. More in terms of the use of color, I was most impressed by the most shot, the actor was dark behind. But the firecracker in the actor’s hand. This makes the actor appear extra bright on the whole picture. All my attention is on him. Finally, I hope that in my movie, I could also use similar lighting to show a unique mystery.There is another fascinating thing. I chose this brand of clothes and wore them on the actors.

This is also a promotional film for a fashion brand. This is the same brand as the previous one. What attracted me the most in this film was his editing technique and the effect of the lens transition. I like that he uses a rotating technology to move the lens and move smoothly from bottom to top. This is also a fast-paced film, and I even think he gives me the urge to continue watching.

The last film, which inspired me, was the editing and distribution of the picture. What impressed me the most is that the same screen is divided into three parts, one big screen, and two small screens. The big screen shows the whole body and background of the actor. Two small images show some details on the clothes.

Post 18：New idea

At the beginning of the thought of the idea, because I recently saw ‘It Chapter 2’. I inspired by IT; I want to make a movie about the clown.

Mentioned clowns only think of comics, humor, and horror. They always do something that ordinary people won’t do. In my movie, I want the audience to see what the clown looks like after makeup remove. They have changed from an ordinary clown to a normal life. What I want to express is that people like to use their appearance to wrap their true selves.

Finally, I gave up the clown as the protagonist in the film. Because I want to continue to study fashion movies, I could not think of the connection between clowns and fashion elements, so. But in the film, I will use similar lighting effects to show the tension and fear of the protagonist.

About this assignment，because I want to continue to research some things about fashion, so I chose to make a film with a theme of snoopers, which contains fashion elements. Not so much a fashion movie, I feel like this is a fashion ad. About fashion movies, my interpretation is fashion film is the medium to communicate various attitudes of fashion.

Regarding this film, I chose the pryer as the title. Everyone in today’s society is likely to be a pry about others because others are curious about you. For these people, their might only like stay on the surface, and attracting them is only a unique external thing such as fashion clothes, beautiful faces, etc. In my film, these snoopers are attracted by the gorgeous appearance and fashionable clothes, which leads to a series of tracking behaviors. One idea I want to express is that when real-life encounters a pryer, bravely stops them. And I want to tell the snoopers that if the snooper is interested in others, please understand and communicate in the usual way.

Post 17：Film Review – It chapter2

Recently I looked at a new movie ‘It chapter2’. In the movie, clowns are lonely, funny, and scary characters.

The one or two chapters of “it” constitutes a perfect duality, the first one is about the childhood nightmare, the second is the fear of depicting the adult world, and they are more abundant and experience in the face of the same enemy. After 27 years, the children grow into adults, but they still have to face up to their fears. The demons that each person planted in his childhood were uncovered after 27 years of burial. If they do not face and solve them, these fears will continue to exist in your forgotten next 27 years. In this movie, the clown is like the embodiment of fear. The more people are afraid of something, what does it become.

Finally, I think that ‘It chapter2’ has no initial fear compared to the chapter1. I still remember the shock that I was shocked when I saw the first one (George’s boat fell into the sewer; the clown bite broke his arm and haul him into the drain). Moreover,

in chapter 2, the increase in funding and the invitation to join the big-name actors, this film still ensures the best business effect in the horror film. But I think the opposite problem is that the film’s horror is much lower than the first one.

Furthermore, the film is an excellent adaptation of the original story while making a

reasonable adaptation of the story. Because the film is too long, and I felt exhausted after watching it.

The scars from childhood extended to the memories of adulthood as fear. Leaving the town and forgetting the summer that once wrestled with the devil.

However, I like this series. Although this series is over. It still appeals to me, and I even imagine that if the clown hasn’t died yet. Twenty-seven years later, when the remaining five people are nearly seventy years old, what will their fears be?

My favorite part of this movie is the use of his lights and colors. The color of the entire film is dark, but a lot of light colors in the costumes and makeup of the clown are similar to red and white, which is precisely the contrast with the natural environment light

Post：16 Film Review- Mountains May Depart

Introduction:

In 1999, Shen Tao fell into a triangle with the young people Zhang Jinsheng and Liang Jianjun. She finally chose Zhang Jinsheng. Liang Jianjun could only leave.

In 2014, Shen Tao and Zhang Jinsheng divorced, Zhang Jinsheng remarried with his son Dollar. They went to Shanghai to live. On the other way, Liang Jianjun returned to his hometown because of terminal illness, Liang Jianjun’s wife in desperation to find Shen Tao borrow money to cure the disease. As Shen Tao’s father died, Dollar returned to Fuyang to attend the funeral. Shen Tao deeply felt his son’s change, knowing that he could not stay with him, but giving him the key to his home.

In Australia in 2025, Dollar grew up. He studied at a Chinese school, meeting a teacher. And then they had a love for the past. Although Dollar has always had the key that his mother gave him, he couldn’t remember the mother’s name. He only recalled that she called Tao, the meaning of the waves.

Colour

The film uses a large number of fixed long shots to tell calmly and objectively tell the story of that era and the people in those times. In this film, the director expresses the emotions of the protagonist in color. The director used a prop to externalize the character’s emotions, namely Shen Tao’s coat. When she likes YU Jinsheng, she wears a red jacket, and red is the color of the Jinsheng car, and also the color of the Jinsheng sweater. And when she likes Liang Zi, she was wearing a blue coat, the color of Liang Zi’s coat, which showed that her heart was in him, indicating that her heart is on him. The film is unique in visual processing. In addition to the contrast, as mentioned above between red and blue, the use of green in the movie is also very SPECIAL. In real life, green represents vitality. In one scene, green is the chain on LIANGZI key, and it is a desire for survival. Another view is the slow-moving green leather train, which gives Shen Tao a deep affection for his son.  Finally, in this green gentleness, they found their own life and emotions.

Editing:

After the filming, I spent three days with Liu Yi to edit our movie. We

are booking an edit room for the school, which is more efficient and convenient than editing in our own home. First of all, I think it’s essential that we have to be together when we edit, because when we have any new ideas and problems that we could communicate and solve in time. This avoids issues that are discovered after the clip is completed, resulting in the need to re-edit. Editing together saves a lot of time.

Final idea

In this version, I used the duck as the beginning and the end. I likened the female owner to the ugly duckling. One of them is her eyes begin to go into a trance; what I want to express is that everything that happened before just was her a dream. No matter how the ugly duckling changes, it’s still an ugly duckling. It is impossible to make personal changes by imagination. Only when a person acts, similar to fitness shopping to improve his quality of life, it is possible to become a white swan. Furthermore, She wants not to be judged by others. She could only use fashion as a weapon to protect herself. Besides, we believe that clothing/physical characteristics can be seen as an idea of fashion preferences or attitudes in our films. However, in this film, we hope to let the audience feel that fashion not only represents the clothing itself but also represents people’s social status and identity.

Original idea：

The storyline and concept we want before editing is this film will have four very personal characters, each of which uses different stories to showcase. What we want to say is that we know that many people don’t like or even hate stereotypes. They don’t wish to stereotype to influence their definition of life. In this film, we try to show these four stories with stereotypes. We want to give viewers the most intuitive understanding of these stereotypes. So, what we want to convey is that when each feature is concentrated on one person, don’t guess which one is her. We have no right to define anyone. She is her own. Finally, we also shot in this order during the shooting.

The final sequence: 

In the process of editing, we have a more unique idea, and we abandoned some useless fragments in the final version because we hope to be more suitable for our movie. For example, on Monday, we showed our draft cut because the audience could not get the fountain point, we also felt that this clip was redundant in the later period, so it was deleted.

The most influential thing about this film is the use of his sound effects, which is very attractive to me. In this movie, it was evident that the director has a very personal style. He cleverly uses sound effects to create a horrible and mysterious atmosphere for the film.

One of the scenes was that Peter received a call from Alice. The director only uses human voices and a weird background for sound processing. On the one hand, Peter’s voice gradually changed from excited to frustrated, which could be seen from Peter only used one or two words as the answer when communicating with Alice. Moreover, the place where Alice calls seems to be in a mysterious corner. Visually, the audience only sees Alice’s mouth from a circle, which adds mystery to Alice’s identity. And the fact that she speaks so quietly highlights the secrecy of the conversation.

At the end of the scene, Peter went to the hotel that was previously agreed. This scene, for the performance of the sound, the director magnified some environmental sounds, similar to the moving music of insects, which is like Peter’s inner world. He is noisy and full of fear. Visually, Alice’s head appeared intermittently on the screen, and there was some ghosting, showing that Peter was excited at the time. These are very intuitive and let the audience feel that the impact of hearing is more significant than the visual.
