Today, I have participated in the production process of the film called Initial Mind, which is also a student work. There are some points I am supposed to learn through the process, both advantage and disadvantage.

She showed me the whole process of what the exquisitely prepared film production should be, a cooperation with the stylist, actor, dresser, cameraman, AD, lighting engineer, and Boom Operator.
From my perspective, film production is supposed to be a collaborate process, which everyone can focus on their own job and present a delicate final effect. The advantage is that the filming process and well underway. Besides, after discussing, the director can try various styles to make his ideas come true. For example, they have tried various positions of lighting to adjust the brightness and darkness. Finally, they got the perfect light.

Through this experience, I think I also need to have a group of people to shoot the film or just join them. I have already communicated with them and discuss the idea of project 2, which is a good start. It is also a good chance for me to try some new ideas in the film.

In addition, I also have some reflection about the filming process. There is one scene they need to film a dancing. In the beginning, the director chooses to use wide-shot for filming the whole dance process. It inspires me to think about the difference between documentary and film. In my opinion, a documentary is supposed to show the whole dancing process clearly and maybe more completely. However, a film may more focus on the expression, the way it presents the dancing. Thus, a film requires more plentiful film language, such as different shots and different transitions. I may continue doing research about their difference in the future blog post.
