I went to the Aquarium with my boyfriend during the weekend and saw a couple with 2 kids at the shark section that were really interesting. They appeared to be tourists and were carrying backpacks. The kids were running around looking at sharks very excitedly and the little girl who looked like the older child asked her mom to take a picture of her with the shark. The mom took it with the FLASH on and had no reaction afterwards that suggested that she thought that was maybe inappropriate. It is a fact that flash will be reflected by the glass and it won’t show the shark clearly. At that point i thought, maybe after she checked the photo and found out it’s not good, she would turn the flash off to take the next picture. But she took the rest of the photos with the flash on every time. I started at her thinking, should I feel bad for the sharks or the little girl. The deep ocean marine animals are not used to strong lights and that could have seriously hurt their eyes or irritated them mentally. And the little girl would feel so sad when she gets to see the photos and all she could see is her and the flashy glass. But now thinking about this issue seriously, it is a behavior that benefits no one and no animal on the planet and only makes you look like an uneducated person. There were people who were also staring at her when she took the photos but sadly no one came up to her to tell her to stop. That’s another serious issue.
