Losing my phone for a whole hour was by far the most scary and exhausting emotional roller coaster I’ve had in 2019. For some reasons, after packing up and exporting the footage of the class exercise, my hand reached to my front pocket and it was not there. And my whole body froze and my brain went like “shit”. I looked into my tote bag with the slightest hope that it might be there by some accident and i was not surprised at all to find it was not in the bad either. That’s when the real panic hit me because i could not remember when was the last time i held it in my hand. It’s pretty humiliating for someone who spends 80% of their time on their phones. I tried my best to recall the places i went to in the past hour and traced down my footpaths, whilst asking “has anyone handed in an iPhone” to every staff working at the food court on campus. I also used “Find my iPhone” on iCloud to locate my phone but it says it was at somewhere around building 80, which i had not been near to this morning, but for the By the end of that, I lost all hope and decided to just wait for people to find it and turn it in. Then i thought, maybe by some very rare accident, I put it in the camera bag. My friend and I went to tech office and asked them if they have seen an iPhone when checking in the equipment of our class. They said they didn’t find any iPhone but would love to double check for me. They opened camera bad #6 for me and it wasn’t in there. I was desperate. And then the I thought maybe try the “make a sound” button on Find my iPhone and see if it does anything. That’s my last shot. I pressed the button and there’s a loud buzzing and ringing, muffled yet got the effect of an earthquake, coming from the cart loaded full of equipment. And then I realized it’s not the camera bag that I put it into, it’s the tripod case. I opened the tripod case and found that it’s chucked between the legs of the tripod which probably happened when i was putting the tripod into the case and my phone slipped out of my front pocket and landed in there. i found it funny that everyone that I asked were all very nice and sincerely tried to help. Most of them said “I haven’t seen your phone but I hope you’ll find it”. I mean, it’s kind of like the sweet nonsense that someone who’s lost their phone would want to hear.
