It was great fun filming Go Fish. The only thing that could be improved upon is that we forgot to film as many shots from one angle. We moved the camera from one side to another to film the mid-shots of both and then moved the camera again to film the close-ups. It’s such an inefficient and time-consuming way to film but it’s quite understandable since we’re all beginners. We spent lots of time on re-positioning the camera and adjusting framing and white balance so the last couple of shots were done in a hurry. Next time we’ll plan the shots first and film all the shots in one angle before we move on to the next angle.
I love Tristan and Jeevan’s performance, they really created the tension between the two characters.
The harsh lighting really helped with creating the intense atmosphere because the light is from straight above and casts shadows under their brows. The facial structures are emphasized in a cold, ruthless way.
