Music was the element that I always paid most of my attention to. The music is this audio portrait is mostly violin or string instruments playing a mysterious tone or piano playing melancholy rhythms. The music that were chosen were mainly to fit the timeline of the story, so it changes its style as time proceeds. The history context is a huge part, using historical elements in sounds like the radio and songs of the time that was mentioned (archival recordings). There’s always two or more textures going on so it’s always like a background and a narration, making it thicker and more luscious in timbre. The overall feel is sad, melancholy but calm and at ease.
I might apply to some of the sonic technics of the audio to our PB4 work. I’m aiming to have lots of textures and use some archival recording if necessary. I’m planning to use original music so it’d fit the story better.
By the end of the lesson, our group discussed about themes to do for PB4 and decided to focus on attention span.
